Every lawn and pitch behaves differently, so I look at soil structure, compaction, thatch, moisture movement and overall turf health before choosing what’s required. I mainly carry out mechanical aeration using solid tines, as it opens the soil profile cleanly and improves oxygen, water and nutrient movement without unnecessary disruption. Alongside this, I also use liquid aeration and biological products to support soil activity naturally and keep the profile working long after the machine leaves the surface.
